Editorial Policy

Last Updated: 30 July 2026

1. Our Commitment to Accuracy

At AussieSalary, we are dedicated to providing the most accurate, reliable, and up-to-date financial tools and guides for everyday Australians. Because we write about superannuation, taxation, and government support (classified as YMYL — Your Money or Your Life — topics), we take our research and mathematical models extremely seriously.

All calculation engines and editorial guides undergo peer review and are audited against primary legislation documents and official governmental sources.

2. Primary Government Sources We Use

We verify all pay rates, tax brackets, and rules using only primary, official references:

  • Australian Taxation Office (ATO): For income tax tables, Medicare levy thresholds, Superannuation Guarantee (SG) caps, HECS/HELP repayment levels, and concessional contribution caps.
  • Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO): For public holiday penalty rates, Modern Awards rates, overtime structures, and base hourly wage rates.
  • Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA): For superannuation fund fee benchmarks and historical investment performance reports.
  • State Revenue Offices (QRO, RevenueNSW, State Revenue Office Victoria, etc.): For local transfer (stamp) duties, payroll tax bands, and land tax structures.

3. Unbiased & Independent

AussieSalary.com is entirely independent. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or sponsored by any retail or industry super fund, bank, insurance firm, or financial institution.

All tools, calculators, and reports are provided 100% free of charge. We do not place content behind paywalls, nor do we skew calculation formulas to favor any commercial super fund or financial product.

4. Review & Update Schedule

Tax rates, indexes, and salary thresholds in Australia update periodically (e.g., at the beginning of each Financial Year on July 1). We run regular quarterly audits on all mathematical models and immediately update our database whenever relevant tax legislation is amended in Federal or State Parliament.

5. How to Request a Correction

If you believe you have detected a typographical error, a calculation discrepancy, or outdated figures in one of our guides, please contact us at hello@aussiesalary.com. Our engineering and editorial team will review the reference and issue a correction within 48 hours if verified.
